Sveinn Eythorsson
I am a classical guitarist, teacher, arranger and founder of the website The Guitar School - Iceland.
I was born in Hafnarfjörður in 1964 and began studying classical guitar at the age of six with my father, Eythor Thorlaksson, a guitarist and teacher.
At the age of seventeen, I went to Spain to study music at the Conservatori de Música Isaac Albéniz in Girona. There I completed a teaching qualification in classical guitar in 1986. I also took private lessons with F. Garrido in Barcelona and have attended master classes with, among others, Oscar Cáceres, David Russell and Manuel Barrueco.
I taught classical guitar for years at Icelandic music schools, including Gardabaer Music School and Hafnarfjordur Music School. Alongside teaching, I have long worked on arrangements and creating teaching materials for classical guitar.
In 2000, I founded website The Guitar School - Iceland, where I have built an extensive collection of sheet music and teaching materials for classical guitar and guitar ensembles.
I now also offer private classical guitar lessons in Hafnarfjörður for children and adults, both beginners and advanced.

Education

Teaching and music
- Classical guitar teacher at an Icelandic music school for years.
- In my younger years I also worked extensively as a guitar and bass player. In 1987 I played guitar and electric guitar in the National Theatre's first production of Les Misérables, under the musical direction of Saebjorn Jonsson. In 1992 I was one of the founding members of the Reykjavík Big Band, which was founded on Saebjorn's initiative. There I played electric bass and my father, Eythor Thorlaksson, played electric guitar.

Other work experience
I later completed a B.Sc. in information systems in Sweden and worked for years in software development and information technology.
I also developed the student and school management system School Archive, which was used by numerous Icelandic music schools for decades.
